Skincare Q&A

Which Foreo Luna should you buy for dry skin ?

Cleansing your face is the first step of getting the flawless and healthy skin. It’s the fundamental and basic step of skincare routine. As people always say, well begun is half done. That is exactly how I feel about cleansing the skin after a long day. Before you feed your skin with serum, cream, and mask, make sure it is clean to absorb all the good stuff into it. In this case, Foreo Luna 2 is just the right tool of getting your skin clean and clear.

Which Foreo should you use when you have dry skin?

My answer is Luna 2 Sensitive Skin.

I do feel the Luna 2 Sensitive Skin (purple) is more gentle on my very dry skin compared to the Luna 2 normal skin(pink). Foreo Luna 2 is available in four varieties for different skin types. It comes in 4 colors with cleansing brushes that tailored to specific skin types.

However, Foreo does not have any cleansing brushes for dry skin types. I tried to research before my purchase but didn’t find any information about it. So, I was having a dilemma of choosing between Luna 2 Normal Skin or Luna 2 Sensitive Skin. In the end, I bought the purple one which is Luna 2 Sensitive Skin. My sister ended up buying the Luna 2 Normal skin which is the pink one.

I’ve tried to use her Luna 2 Normal Skin just to see which one works the best for dry skin. Both of the devices did a really great job in cleansing. They clean deep into the skin with T-sonic pulsations to remove all the impurities. The only difference is the silicon touch points. For Luna 2 Normal Skin, it’s a mixture of two different sizes of silicon touch points. On the other hand, Luna 2 Sensitive Skin only has one type of silicon touch point.

I can use the sensitive skin one morning and night without any irritation. Whereas the normal skin one, it’s a tad rough to my very dry skin. Just a little bit.

I think both work fine on dry skin. But if you have very dry skin like me, I’ll definitely recommend Luna 2 Sensitive Skin. My skin does feel sensitive from time to time especially when I’m trying a new product or traveling. Plus, it’s always a good idea to treat your skin as delicate as you could.

Should you buy a Foreo Luna?

Yes yes yes! Absolutely YES! In fact, this is one of my holy grail products! I recommend this to all of my friends and family because I truly love it and simply cannot live without this product! I use it every single day and bring it with me whenever I’m traveling. My skin feels really fresh and clean, literally feels like my pores are breathing each time I use it.

I recommended this to an acne-prone skin friend and he uses it religiously every single day. His skin has improved tremendously ever since he started using it.

When I first started using this, I was kinda skeptical about it. It just doesn’t feel a huge difference on my skin compares with cleaning with my own fingers. In short, I wasn’t impressed. I normally pour some toner on a cotton pad and gently wipe my skin after cleansing. The cotton pad will somehow have some yellowish residue on it.

But guess what? After one full minute cleansing with Foreo, the cotton pad is clear, zero residues! I started to believe and use it every day. My skin has improved and didn’t break out as often like before.

Even though this device is quite costly, I assure you it’s worth every of your penny. This is definitely a good investment if you want to achieve clear and flawless skin.

How often do you use it?

As I mentioned before, I tried using it twice daily. But then I realized that my skin is feeling a bit tight for that. Even with the most gentle face cleanser, my skin often feels tight if I clean it twice a day. Therefore, I only use it once daily at night.

My skin is very dry, I never wake up feeling greasy on my face. I just splash some water on my face to feel refresh and apply my skin care products for the day. You can experiment with your Foreo Luna for a week on your skin and see how it goes. If you have very dry skin like me, make sure to keep your environment is tidy and clean. Clean and change your bed sheet and pillowcase at least once a week.

How often should you clean your device?

Foreo is made of antibacterial silicones so it’s pretty hygienic. Clean it with your facial cleanser once or twice weekly is enough. I normally clean my Foreo Luna once a week after I used it. Just gently wash it and rinse it with water and it looks brand new again.

On a side note, I generally keep all my skin care products including my Foreo Luna outside the bathroom for hygiene purpose. If you use your Foreo Luna’s anti-aging mode, I’ll say clean it at least twice a week. Skin care products leave a thin layer of residue on the anti-aging surface. I often clean it right after if I use the anti-aging surface to help my skin care products penetrate into my skin. I have no idea does it help with anti-aging as I only massage my face occasionally.

What about Clarisonic Mia?

If you are constantly following the beauty news, you know Clarisonic and Foreo are often put to the test and compare together. These two babies have their own supporters and often scored high ratings when put to the test.

In my opinion, Clarisonic does give me that very clean and refreshing looks. My skin looked extremely smooth and soft. I literally can’t stop to touch and feel my face. It gives you that immediate effect of a smooth and radiant skin.

Let me put it in that way, Clarisonic feels like a gentle scrub that cleans your face and removes all your dead skin cell. Unlike Clarisonic, Foreo is just like a regular cleanser that just focuses on cleaning all your grime and dirt off your face. It’s just very gentle and clean your face perfectly.

I have to say Clarisonic made a really really good first impression on me. It was so good that I will actually look forward and feel excited to use it.

My friend with combination skin loves Clarisonic so much and swear by it. But for some reasons, Clarisonic irritates my skin, I couldn’t use it daily. If I use it every day, my skin feels irritated with some redness on the second or the third day. That’s how I found out Clarisonic did not work for me. I only tried the Mia 1 though. I heard Mia 2 is better for sensitive skin but I don’t know anything about that.

Feel free to drop a comment and let me know if you’d like to share your own experience of using the cleansing device.
