When it comes to picking a face mask, it’s important that you know your skin type. Facial masks are made to provide a quick solution to help your skin problems.

I have very dry skin, my skin constantly feels dry regardless of the weather. Therefore, I love facial masks with moisturizing, brightening or soothing effect. With that being said, I minimize the usage of clay mask or oil control facial mask.

Features To Look For In Facial Masks

  • Mask Types
  • Masks With Humectants
  • Mask With Natural Nourishing Ingredients
  • Mask Textures

Due to my skin condition (dry and slightly sensitive), I try to avoid clay mask and retexturizing mask(contains beads/fine particles). These types of mask usually caused some discomfort on my skin. Therefore, I try my best not to use them.

I mainly focus on masks that provide nourishment and hydration to my skin. Ingredients like glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and olive oil are all good for your skin.

Eau Thermale Avène Soothing Moisture Mask, 1.69 fl. oz.(Click to Check Price On Amazon)

This is considered a new product that I newly added into my skin care products. I bought this product because my skin was very sensitized at that time. I couldn’t use any sheet masks as all of the masks irritated my skin. My skin will turn red and itchy whenever I try to use sheet masks.

I bought this out of desperation. I didn’t put high expectation on this product because I knew my skin was in a very bad condition at that time. Surprisingly, this product did soothe my skin and provide some moisture to my skin.

This is a wash-off mask that you can use once or twice every week to restore your skin moisture. It has a white creamy texture that gives your skin intense moisture at the same time also helps relieve symptoms like redness, tightness, and sunburns.

Even though the ingredients are not the best as this contains mineral oil and fragrance. I’m not a fan of mineral oil nor the fragrance. It did not cause any breakout or other problems on my skin. On the contrary, this product does help me soothe my skin whenever my skin is feeling tight or redness. Even though it contains mineral oil and fragrance, the ingredients were used is pretty simple. It is also paraben-free, soap-free, soy-free and gluten-free.

Nowadays my skin has returned to a fairly normal state, but this product stays in my skin care routine. I feel that this is a product I could count on even on my bad skin days.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask

Kiehl’s ultra facial series is well recognized in the beauty community. This series provides lasting 24-hour hydration yet still lightweight and absorb into the skin easily. This overnight hydrating mask is inspired by their best selling Ultra Facial Cream. Therefore, they shared some similar ingredients and formula.

This is an overnight mask which is as known as a sleeping mask. It replenishes your skin during your sleep and leaves you with supple and soft looking skin throughout the day. Transparent in color, but packed with glacial glycoprotein extract to keep your skin hydrated even in extreme climate.

I use this regularly especially on the days when I’m too lazy for a skincare routine. It saves me so much time and I’m able to get into bed as soon as I could. This works better than Laneige Sleeping Mask on my skin.

Both have a similar gel-like texture that absorbs into your skin in a very short amount of time. Fast absorbing textures are very important in a sleeping mask as no one wants to sleep and feeling tacky on the face. But Kiehl’s overnight hydrating mask works better on my skin. I feel that my skin is flooded with moisture and looking very moisturized the next day.

The Body Shop Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask

This is a fairly new product that I just purchased recently. However, I could not stop using this anti-pollution face mask. Anti-pollution skin care products are becoming more and more popular due to pollutions. I definitely feel the need to protect my skin against these environmental factors. It turns out to be one of the best product I’ve ever purchased.

Due to my skin condition, I try my best to avoid all the products with beads or fine particles such as face scrubs and retexturizing mask. But this 100% vegan mask contains really fine particles that my skin has absolutely no problem with it. It gently exfoliates and removes pollutants and impurities on my skin. My skin instantly feels refreshing and clean. I can feel that my skin is detoxed and all of my pores are breathing again.
